Every Detail Solar cleans solar carports and canopies at roughly 225 panels per hour - our highest throughput of any mount type - because their open underside and uniform tilt let crews work continuously. That efficiency makes canopy arrays among the cheapest solar assets to keep clean, and it is exactly the kind of operational number competitors won't put in writing.
Who this is for
Owners and operators of solar parking canopies, covered-walkway arrays, and commercial shade structures - office campuses, retail, municipal lots, and agrivoltaic canopies. If you have panels over a parking lot, this is your page.
The canopy efficiency story
| Mount type | Published throughput | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Carport / canopy | ~225 panels/hr | Open access, uniform tilt, continuous reach |
| Rooftop | ~150 panels/hr | Tie-off, parapets, irregular layouts |
| Ground-mount | ~150 panels/hr | Row travel, terrain, vegetation |
Because we price on throughput, the fastest mount type is also the cheapest per panel. Canopies win on both.
What happens on site
- Lot coordination: we section work zones and schedule around parking demand.
- Deionized wash from below with no runoff chemicals, safe over vehicles and pedestrians.
- Low-tilt attention: canopies rinse poorly in rain, so we target the film and pollen rain leaves behind.
- Recovery report where monitoring allows.
When canopy cleaning is not worth it
A steeply pitched canopy in a rainy, low-traffic setting may stay clean enough on its own. If soiling loss is minimal and there's no exhaust-film or pollen buildup, we'll recommend monitoring over a scheduled wash.
